Wedding dress options for the curvy bride

We all want to look our best on our wedding day; that’s a given. While the wedding industry is simply oozing with a wide variety of choices for several body types, it’s extremely important to select a gown that flatters your figure and hides any unruly bulges or lumps. Most crucially, the bride Pink Prom Dresses should feel completely at ease in whatever gown she chooses to wear. After all, remember that it is your very own, once-in-a-lifetime special day and it’s quite important that you feel comfortable in your wedding dress.

While there are a lot of options for curvier brides, some of them might feel ill at ease in certain types of dresses. A strapless dress with a tight bustier, for example, is quite a popular choice among brides, but curvy ladies should be particularly careful while choosing this type of dress because they can accidentally expose more cleavage than they bargained for! To be on the safe side, it’s best to go for a halter-like dress which will lift the bust while bringing a streamlined look to your silhouette. However, if you’ll feel more comfortable in a strapless dress, make sure that the bodice and cleavage allows room for movement and don’t forget to wear a properly-fitted strapless bra.

If you want to look more slender on your wedding day, stay far away from thick, meringue-like taffeta gowns. Ballroom dresses only look nice on curvy brides if you make sure that the waist is properly nipped in. A popular trick among fashion designers is to create quite a lot of ruffles and designs on the upper part of the dress in order to draw attention away from the hip and waist areas, hence elongating the silhouette. This simple tip can make any bride appear at least ten pounds lighter.

Brides who aren’t obsessed with the idea of wearing white for their wedding should absolutely experiment with colors. We all know that white is quite an unforgiving hue and wearing white from head to toe can be quite a difficult look to pull off if you’re not ultra-confident in your skin. So, if you’re okay with wearing colored wedding frocks on your special day, try to go for red, blue or even yellow gowns for a more slimming effect. Don’t hesitate to create a contrast with different colors as well. For example, if you want to elongate your lower body, try to go for a white, sparkly corset and a black, A-line skirt.

Whichever color you decide to go for, keep in mind that Empire Waists, A-line and Mermaid cuts are the most forgiving ones. Also, it’s important to make sure that your dress is neither too loose short Homecoming Dresses nor too tight on you: too tight will show off any bulge while too loose will only add pounds to your figure. Don’t forget that the proper pair of shoes can also work wonders in bringing a flattering effect to your figure.

Lin + Daniel Romona Keveza Wedding by Sarah Esther

Sometimes it can be difficult to get that one dress out of your mind. Thats exactly what happened to Lin when it came to shopping for her wedding gown and she was unable to get the stunning simplicity of a certain Romona Keveza gown off her mind. After trying it on, she ended up tweaking her dress budget (just a bit) to make this modern gown with an unforgettable bustle a part of her day. But then again, some budgets are made to be broken! Be sure to view all the details of Lin and Daniels modern garden wedding in Georgia below.

Lin + Daniel | June 8, 2013 | Norcross, Georgia | Dress Listing: Romona Keveza, RK308

The Ceremony

I had always envisioned my wedding to be outside so when I found the garden at The Atrium with the Italian stone gazebo and grass stone mosaic landscaping, I knew it would be a beautiful setting for my ceremony. I didnt have to do much in terms of decor; leafy arrangements at the tops of the gazebo columns and chiffon drapes completed my look. I walked down the aisle to a beautiful cello guitar duo and we ended the ceremony with the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air high-five after the kiss

The Reception

What I loved about Lavender Prom Dresses The Atrium is the mix of old world and modern with its neoclassical style. The outside ceremony was green and lush, whereas the reception ballroom was floor-to-ceiling glass with champagne drapes and beautiful chandeliers it was modern and glamorous, exactly the look I was going for in my reception. We had a fun choreographed first dance that involved our entire wedding party and was the perfect opportunity to show off my dress unique bustling.

Lins Dress Search

I was very particular about my style since I have a distinct fashion style. I was looking for something unique and modern and ended up falling in love with a Romona Keveza dress that I saw on a wedding blog one night. From then on, that was all I could think about (even though it was triple my budget!) and I ended up looking at a newer version from the spring 2013 collection. After trying on the dress multiple times, I finally admitted to myself that this was the one!

How Lin Felt in Her Wedding Dress

Gorgeous, distinctive and glamorous.

Why Lin Decided to Sell Her Wedding Dress

Since I have a particular style and am not very traditional, I ruled out the whole future daughter wearing it idea. As much as I love my dress, I would love to see it get another chance to make someone One Shoulder Prom Dresses UK feel as spectacular as it made me feel.

How to throw a proper Celtic Wedding

Firmly rooted in the balance and power of nature, Celtic weddings are extremely romantic and project an almost mystical feel on the ceremony. Contrary to popular belief, you do not have to be Irish or even believe in the Celtic faith in order to throw such a ceremony. Indeed, all you need is a beautiful, airy green space- preferably a forest- and a firm knowledge of the traditions that usually accompany Celtic theme weddings.

The one important thing to bear in mind is that you should stick to the proper color palette. Indeed, bright pinks and vivid reds are certainly not going to do it. Don’t forget that Celtic cultures are very focused on nature which means that your wedding will have to be centered a deep, forest green hue.

If you’re hesitant about slipping into a green wedding dress, don’t panic. You can very easily bring some green touches to your outfit by donning some emerald jewelry. A typical look for Celtic brides is a long, flowing gown with bell sleeves, emerald earrings and a matching emerald chain around the forehead. Some Celtic brides choose to skip the forehead chain in favor of a flower crown.

Celtic weddings are also quite focused on hand fasting ceremonies; a tradition during which the priest ties the hands of the bride and groom together to symbolize an ever-lasting relationship. By this token, make sure to select the proper fabric for the hand fasting ceremony: deep gold, silver or green are the most typical colors for these rituals.

Some Celtic couples also choose to engage in the burning of the unity candle, whereby both the bride and the groom light one candle at the same time to symbolize their union. If you want to perform this deeply romantic gesture at your wedding, it’s important to get a proper Celtic candle that’s tall and large enough to be visible to all the guests.

As far as the reception goes, Celtic culture is also reputed for its highly sophisticated and elegant banquets. So, if you can White Prom Dresses afford it, try to go for long, banquet-like tables and chairs for your guests to feast on. Don’t neglect the wedding cake Prom Dresses online shop either: a white, ivory or green cake with Celt-like symbols engraved all over it will most certainly bring a pronounced Celtic feel to your special day.
